eco bags

hey,

i was just wondering if any of you had experience with eco bags? I am thinking about using some. http://www.ecobagindustries.com.au/

These bags hold 20 litres each and on the website it says that the apillary wick can be adjusted to deliver 1 litre every 24 hours. Can the apillary wick be adjusted to deliver more or less? If it can't would 7 Litres a week be adequate for a plant during the Australian summer in NSW? I was thinking 20 litres a week is more like it but it would be good if it was less.

Would the litre per day be fine for two weeks then at the end of the two weeks let out the rest of the water in the bag giving extra 6 litres on each plant? Giving the plant 20 litres over two weeks?

or letting them run for 3 weeks at a litre per day and setting up an extra irrigation system to give each plant an extra 5 -10 litres each week.

Basically what's the minimum water for the plants per week and the optimum? i know thats a hard question to answer due to rain and so on but just on average.
