What the hell is that?

This particular seed has been dormant for a while, slightly opened, but yesterday I saw this grey crap around it. It's starting to spread to the neighboring seed too, is it normal or do I need to do something?

 

On an unrelated note, another seed was slightly germinated but facing the wrong way. I used a pair of tweezers to turn it over but accidentally damaged the sprout sap a little, will it still grow out?

looks like mould to me thats not be good

Mould loves high humidity and warm temps, start again, this time water less in first 2 weeks (lets the medium around the seeds almost dry out before rewatering, and no nutes), clean any equipment before reuse as mould spores will be on anything close by or that has touched that area.

 

PS if thats in ya aerogarden I have no idea how to fix the water problem (they are auto feeding arnt they?

yep :S but it had nutes in it before, that probably did it. its just water now but... I'm hoping the spores dont spread to the other pods. I'll kill the bastards. It was prob from the seed domes being on so long, they trapped heat like hell and the seeds didnt germinate fast enough so the domes stayed on. Edited July 2, 2009 by Wakenbake

The medium looks saturated.

 

Until the seed germs into its first set of leaves i would recommend creating a mini greenhouse for it.

 

Cover your seedling cup/pot with glad wrap, keep tight with a rubber band, mist daily with a spray bottle.
