whats the best ph for growing in Perlite?

ok guys I have been told by a few people that if you are growing in Perlite only that you should use a PH of around 5.2 but I used this PH and the plants would not grow too much at all I am thinking that I should go back to a ph of 5.8 or so...... what do you guys think?? 5.2 is the lower limit for effective nutrient absorbtion in hydro. 5.2 to 5.9 for hydro, try to keep it around 5.5 or 5.7/8 or so, and you should get much better growth. What kind of perlite are you using? Which brand?

I use a perlite/vermiculite mix, my plants are quite happy with 6.3.

Im in 50/50 coco peat/perlite and im around 5-6~ can't say exact cause I just have a cheap liquid tester..... my plants are growing pretty damn good I think..... like a inch or more plus more on the branches under 50w of compact fluros?

i have never had any problems in hydro with the ph anywhere between 5.2 and 6.3. any higher or lower though and the plants stop drinking.

hey oz,

been growing with straight perlite in 50lt pots now 4 quite a numba of years now and try to keep your ph @6 for best growing,with up to 2+inches growth a day under right amount of light.
