nutrients and water temp

Recommended Posts

21C, is the knife edge, a little lower if ya unsure, better safe then sorry. The air temp and humidity will affect nutrient uptake more then the water temp.

Better to get a little slower growth and get full yeild, then get faster growth and reduced yeild, because of the temp of the water, over 21C and the chance of rootrot multiply heaps.

Ideal temps are 15°-24°C.

Water at 15°C holds a lot more oxygen, than that of 24°C.

At 29°C water holds bugger all oxygen, and roots in those temps can be damaged and are more likely to rot/wilt and opens up for fungus/bug problems the warmer it is.

It depends on what your other enviromental conditions are like to, ie: if its cold weather, run it a bit warmer to keep the plants comfortable, ifs it bloody hot, run it cooler.

I keep mine about 21°C.
