soil question

Recommended Posts

Would it be ok to use regular soil from the veggie garden mixed with blood & bone, home made compost and perlite? The only nutrients I currently have is Ionic. This is my second attempt at growing and I only have a small grow space (1.8m x .75 x .55) so I'm not after massive results.

from what i know garden soil does tend to pack down hard after a period ina pot .. unless it has a varied soil particle size and generous amounts of fibre thus ensuring good air pockets and good water-holding ability,

so with your compost and perlite mixed in i reckon you be on the right track Gee ...

;)

with some gravel at bottom of pot too .. but you knew that anyway

greetnz Gee

radic ruff rules for indoor organic

1/3 garden soil <----fine textuer, rich lomy,

1/3 gravel, course sand, clay balls <----for good drainage

1/3 coco or peat moss <----water and nutrient retention

well mixed

with a hand full a sand or gravel in the bottom of each pot

ruff cause

some strains like 10% more or less drainage

some managments practices requier more or less drainage

like auto flood and drain, or DIY hand applied

there are lotsa verables

but it is all strictly fine tuning from there

pends pon

well heaps

tell i are you planing to automate your nutrient sollution/watering system??????????

like drip or flood<---more drainage

or by hand watering can<---less drainage

do you want to maintain everyday <-more drainage

or twice a wk <---less drainage

if you forsee a struggle maintaining low grow room temps <----less drainage

generally

for organic hydro

well drained, feed often at min CF, flush often

produces faster growth rates and biger budz

but all rules must have exceptions

seen

some strains just perform better in heaver mixes and with less feedz

i have not grown White Skunk

so ill leave that for those who have
