Aussie Autum/Winter Grow 09

Hey fellow OS'ers,

I've Just been thinking and have now started "THIS" Outdoor Autum/Winter Grow Thread.

 

Please feel free to post your Info and Pics so we can all admire and compare our grows during the Cold Season.

I doubt that any plant would survive a Canberra autumn, let alone the sub zero winters and constant frosting. Guess I'll just have to wait 'till spring has sprung. Good luck with yours.

Its possible if you can create a 'micro climate' . ....i`ve found it possible to grow all year round where i am, providing i do mi best to shelter the bubs in their early stage

 

I start from seed directly into 6" pots of potting mix......for the first week i make sure the mix never dries out(helps for quick germination)....

 

The seedlings stay in the 6" pots until i see roots starting to come through the bottom(roughly 3 weeks)...........then i transplant them into 8" pots full of potting mix and dynamic lifter.......the seedlings stay in the 8" pots until i see roots coming out of them(roughly 5 weeks....from memory).......then its into 12'' pots or the ground for the remainder.......(i generally put them in the 12" pots at this stage cause i can follow the sun with em)......if that makes sense

 

You can create a micro climate by building up walls around the garden.......like junk/shrubs/a fence...n so on ....the aim is to protect the plants from the extreme temperature fluctuations while making sure they receive enough light for as long as needed

Well I will be starting when the seeds pop hopefully in a few days, and It's Bagseed that I bred this year.
