The real deal on so called wonder ferts & additives

Was snooping online looking for the actual ingrdients to various nutrients and found the Oregon Dept of Agricultures independant anlysis of registered fertilizers.

 

 

Apparently many companies used to register in Oregon because of lax restrictions (Probably like delaware and Corporations). Anyway almost every company has not renewed thier registration (odd coincidence!.?) but the analysis tells alot when you know what plants need and how much of it!

 

In short so many products have a single active ingredient thats already present in most garden fertilizers or additives. Others don't include trace elements or certain additives in thier base fertilizers so they can sell us another product or series of products. The classic "Givem a disease then sell them a cure at a 200%+ margin" hustle. You'd think they'd remember that at some point they were us! Its terrible how many companies are built on marketing instead of Research & Developemnt nowadays.

 

There are quality companies with complete & balanced nutrients as well as others using ingredients that are unique & chelated however they are much fewer and farther between than I ever imagined (and I'm a skeptic with almost 10 yrs under HID's)!

I used to work for a small plant nursery chain while i was studying various plant and soil sciences at uni so i had some understanding of fert ingrediants and soil chem and plant uptake. CUt a long story short the home fert industry is a joke good products are few and far between, most are as u describe and absolute scam.

THen hydro shops take this to a whole new level. If i had the time i would love to write a product guide and rip into some of these products.

is promtly sold to the developing countries for profit

they really just care about $$$$$$$$$$$$

 

thats why i love to make all me own fertz and nutirents

i hate surporting these soleless companies by having to buy their BS products

And then there's the astronomical amount of money shops/dealers try to charge you just because its used for "Hydroponics". its like there's a sign under the counter - hydroponic grower add 50%... Thats my local...
