Ouch feed my 2 week plants CF 17.4

Recommended Posts

hi there

great site sorry im a newbie to this

have been growing only a couple of months

reading making mistakes and trying to learn...

PICS to follow.......

setup

8 pot wilma system hydro

canna nutrients A + B

600 watt light dual spectrum

16" Fan..

Grow tent 1.2 metres long x 1.2 metres long 2 metres high

ok 4 days ago i stuck my 3 x lowryder plants

into the wilma hydro 18/6 lights plus 1 x 16" fan..

after 2 days the plants looked droppy and what looks like over feed was evident

ie from the tips and from the bottom leafs of the plant.

so straight away i took them off nutrients and feed them water from a Tumble dryer (its a condenser one)

and started given them a water say 4-6 hours when lights were on done this for 2 days now. plants havent got any worse now, well i hope... am i doing right by just giving them just the tumble water or should i re-adjust the CF to 8-12 CF.

What PH should i be looking for these new plants...

i tested the nutrients in the wilma hydro the CF was 17.2... funny thing is the two plants that have been there for 7 weeks

are fine, as i dont know what they are im just gonna let them 18/6 lights with the lowryders until the Lowryders have been harvested, am i taking a risk here growing like this...

So what Cf should i be looking for the new 2 week old plants (grown in a LED panel very fast growth)

What PH for 2 week old plants...

What about EC dont understand if CF and EC are similar ie u only need to use one as a measurement or are both CF

and EC different readings and do they effect the growing process..

so i mixed down the nutrients down to 15 CF and PH 6.4... thats where everything is at mo.....

I will post pics... just need a good bit of advice on the levels....

Also i use the wilma 18 hours on 6 hours off but with 2x15 mins in that 6 hours.

or is it better to do 15 mins off 15 mins on for the 18 hours... also what about when its dark..

temps are 25-28 lights on but can drop to 10 when lights off. i got my cycle so they are off in the day time so not as cold..

any help or info would be fantastic............

EC (Electro-Conductivity) is the same as CF (Conductivity Factor)

they are just different sacels of mesuarement

to convert EC to CF

you move the decimal point.

seen

1.0EC = 10CF

The ppm to EC ratio is described as either

700 ppm = 1EC

or

500ppm = 1EC.

Why the difference? Because every mineral salts used in nutrient sollutions has a different atomic weight, and one part in a million will have a different conductivity. When you mix several mineral salts together, we can test the conductivity for all the mineral salts in the sollution, but the parts per million is only an approximation.

Generally, I think 1EC is 650ppm,

there are some scales that are different in the USA

so check the source of the refferance materal

it is safer and cheeper to run your system on the min rather than the max

depends on the kind of potting media you are using,

The potting media drainage determines the amount and timing of watering required,

seen

coco or rockwool holds water a lot more than clay pellets!

if you use a 6" square rockwool cube you will need a lot less dripping than if you had your plant in a pot just filled with hydroton (clay pellets).

some use a drip system with clay pellets, and just let the nutes rip thru 24/7 with a 1/4" tube .... not even using a dripper! just stick the tube into the hydroton and turn the pump on.

also what about when its dark..

yes is is possible to feed 24/7 if you have good drainage

only guessin till we see a pic

my guess is shock from the change of lights

imho

they are a bit too young to be put under the grow lights yet

they have only small roots systems and need to develop more roots before they are ready to grow

i dont feed them any nutirents till they have their first set of true leaves

just pure water up too 2wks

and then

at 1/4 of the recomended full strength sollution

till the next set of true leaves

then increase to 1/2 strength ect

for me

usually at 4wks they are ready for the grow room

irey guidance
