Milk Shots

Recommended Posts

Nice pieces but where's the milk?

Yeah I'm on FMB as Glassaholic, luckily I'm also a member on another private forum with a glass market and even better nearly all the major artists are members as well :bongon:

haha I only have my iPhone so milk shots are hard.... I broke the MGW A/C when I tried to take a milk shot...so unco.

I'm on most of the glass sites Glass District, Glasspipes.org, TC, FMB but havent found another glass market... would you mind shooting me a pm with the addy for it? I'm hoping to find a Toro Inline/13 but they are hard to find. I asked Itza joe if he would be keen to make an inline/13/13 - but he has too much on his plate ATM. The relfector percs are awesome.

I've been learning scientific glass blowing for 6 months and want be the first to make quality glass in Australia - working on a pretty interesting circ design and teaching myself inlines ATM...

It'd be awesome to see a GonG piece made in Aus, it'd make it the first real 100% Aussie made bong too :bongon:

I've seen you post on GD, it's my favourite glass forum by far. Unfortunately with all the private glass forums I know of require sponsorship from a real life friend or from people you have already done business with (and those sponsors will be held responsible if you fuck up), FMB was a great way to get in like this as it was pretty much the only open glass market but now that is shut down and in the progress of upgrading to a private forum with invitations being based on a formal reputation system with well known and respected members who have had successful previous transactions receiving automatic invites (well that's the plan anyway).

Unfortunately the glass market is becoming a closed community nowadays because of the amount of scammers that appeared (particularly on FMB) :bongon:

Nice colour work dude. Did you make that yourself

What state are you in? It's so hard to meet glass blowers down under!

thanks man, yes I did, this is just one of my littleys. I'm in Vic and been doing glass for 20 years, started as a scientific blower and moved into the art glass scene. Where abouts are you situated?

That's awesome, do you have a lathe at all? I'm guessing not by the style of base used. Do you sell them to headshops at all?

Yes I have a lathe (quite large actually), but as you astutely pointed out, I didn't use it on that piece. The foot is hand spun at my bench torch. I like the look of a curved base as opposed to a straight flare on something like this pipe. Also when it's spun, as you can see, there are no tool marks, because no tool touches it.

As for headshops, no, and I'm not interested either ... but I'm not allowed to talk about business kind of things here or my posts will get deleted. 8X

Yeah, I own 4 pieces that have hand spun bases, I like the look on smaller pieces. I'm really loving some of the techs being developed in the US atm, the fuming/air trap tech blows me away, this example by Itza Joe combining several techs works brilliantly;

I'm in Perth - happy to travel to learn and talk glass though.

I'm really keen to take things up a notch with glass here in Australia.

Itza are killing it in the states. They are putting a different spin on tubes and bubblers. I love it.

If any of you get onto glass district - check out the Itza logo comp - I have a logo entered - hopefully I get an Aussie connection to the awesome glass that is itza.
