Non 24 hour grow cycles

Oh hai all. Apologies if this has already come up.

 

I understand most timers dont allow this but has any experimentation been done with non 24 hour grow cycles. Anybody with personal experience or know of documentation of such an experiment on the www

Indeed it has been done before mate... 12/6 and 9/9 as opposed to the usual 20/4- 12/12 cycles. There are timers that can do it, the last one I saw capable was a pricey unit though...

 

The upside is a quicker crop, though the yield is smaller. From memory someone on the forums played with the idea a few years ago. Report was 5 crops a year as opposed to four, though the yield overall was less...

 

So... in the wash-up, an interesting theory, an interesting practice, but not much of a gain overall.
