Flushing

Hello Fellow Farmers,,

 

Im in the 3rd week of veg from seeds and have been using the bio buzz range of ferts fro about 2 weeks now i have just repoted from 4 inch to larger pots about 2 days ago and was wondering if i should be considering flushing the plants with just plain water and if so how ??? ,, my understanding of flushing in soil is to drench the soil with at least 3-4 times the volume of water as to soil ie 1 liter pot to be flushed with 4 liter of water and left to drain for about 5 - 10 mins to remove any harmfull buildups then back to the ferts again ,, ,, or do you water then with plain water for a few days then back to the ferts ????? or should i not bother with flushing as its just a practice used in hydro setups???

ps this is my first grow and any help would be apriciated thanks in advance

Soil clings onto nutrients alot more than hydro mediums so I'd flush with fresh water over a period of time, big soak, let it dry out then another big soak. For final flush you'd probably have to do this for a week or two.

just keep pouring pure water in the top of each pot,

fast enough till the pot fills but does not overflow,

drain the water to waste that comes out of the bottom of the post

at first it will run dark in colour.

 

it mabe 1/2hr or an hour later,

till water runs out the bottom of the pot clear

as soon as it does run clear out the bottom of the pots

stop

 

now return to your normal feeding gradually

at 1/2 strength frist day

then full sterngth next day

One thing with using nutes in a soil grow it will build up in the soil quickly if u are using the nutes every day or second day.

 

What i like to do when using nutes in a soil grow in feed them the nutes once a week only that way it wont build up in the soil as fast and ans cause u any probs, but i still liked to give em a good flush once every 6 weeks or so...

it is a good idea to check the ph of your pure water,

PH between 6 and 7 is irey

if necessary adjust

lemon or vinigor will lower it

and

natural organic baking soda

or eco-carb will raise it

 

How often?????????????

anytime and everytime the plants look sick

 

most hydro mediums is recomended once a week to flush

 

soil tends a bit more forgiving

 

once every two week is irey

 

flushing is

first aid for plants

flushing is like cpr for plants

so anytime and everytime the plants look sick

the golden rule

flush first

check for insect infestation

I find when growing in soil that it is best to finish with with an ''emergency flush'' . Lady Zandra did a great tutorial on the ''emergency flush'' and it works very well. Heres the link http://www.marijuanagrowing.eu/emergency-f...ency%20flushing

,, I managed to Flush as per Radics instruction ,, with 8 liters of fresh water and the plants went a little darker ,, but now getting lighter green again (back to normal),, is that normal ????
