In Virginia, where George Washington grew hemp, two plants can get you up to 30 years in prison.

 

Today we have a GM'ds strain for hemp that contains next to no THC. The strain GW grew has smokable pot! He just decided to use a lot of it for hemp products. Who says he never toked a bit of the bud?

 

So, the press is performing a propaganda of words when claiming GW grew hemp. He grew marijuana and this is the word the press is looking to avoid when in reality at that stage there's no difference.

Although George Washington never wrote that he smoked his "hemp", he did once write about separating the males from the females. What other reason on this earth would ya want to separate the males from the females if it wasn't to get better quality seedless bud?

I wouldn't write in my memoirs that I drink coffee every day either, it's a common thing to do so not worth mentioning, I'd suggest that was how it was with cannabis back then too.
