What are my plants and when can I pick them

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Been reading for ages - just joined. I'm on the east coast of aus, and have these two babies growing outdoors from seeds we picked out of a mix. It's only the 2nd time I've tried growing and is going much better than last time. I planted in the first week of sept but kept them in greenhouses until about 6 weeks ago when they got too big.

2 questions: does anyone have any idea what strain they might be? and second, approximate time till harvest? I've been locking em up at night for weeks and don't know if I can wait much longer!

Thanx

G'day 1sttime, welcome to OS

There isn't really much chance of telling what they are by just looking

They do look very nice though

to tell when they are ready check the trichs (the crystally things on the buds and leaves).

At the moment they are clear. When they are cloudy the buds will be good for a spacey uplifting kind of high.

When they are amber the stone will be much heavier.

You can pick between cloudy and amber for a mix.

Good luck and patience

Hey Bill,

This is all new to me - they've been outside and I've just been letting them do their thing. How do I give them more veg time? Obviously for my next go ... They were planted in the first week of Sept and are in pretty small pots - would bigger pots have = more vegetation?

ok

sorry i didnt realise they where outdoors since birth

atm the plants are flowering, this happens beacuse the plant has built up a hormone

due to an uninterupted dark period of 12 hrs or more

for the plant to grow in vegetative stage u need to avoid the hormone build up

this is easily acchieved by not alowwing plant to get 12 hrs darkness

outdoors can be tricky and some additinal lighting is useful in greenhouses

obviously where u are the nights are long

shorter nights and long days provide vegetive growth

indoors 18/6 is recommended

but outdoors the plants dont get this same amount of direct light

im not a real outdoor grower man sorry i enjoy indoors

crazy shit this year as i have plants flowering to..

hope i made some sence man

im pretty stoned righht now

take care and stay safe

Ok..

Transplant into the biggest pot you can get your hands on, look for 30L +.

Use a mixture of Searles Premium Potting Mix and Searles 5 in 1. Assuming a 30L pot I would do 25L of the potting mix and 5L of the Searles 5 in 1. Mix it together thoroughly and transplant.

Continue feeding/watering using flowering nutrients. I'd say you still have at least 4-6 weeks left before harvest.

Be patient my friend, the reward will be plenty :-)
