Something is eating my seedlings. (Pics)

I have 4 seedlings growing germinated around 12/11 they are looking very healthy but some sort of bug is eating them. 2 of the seeds i germinated were eaten just as they hit the surface and the round leaves on the 4 remaining are being chomped on, one of the leaves is almost torn in half. they have already developed their 1st set of true leaves and these havnt been touched by the bugs.

 

what is this? slugs?

I say cut the bottom out of 3 coke bottle or whatever and put over the top of em for abit of protection.

Birds did exactly the same thing to mine. They only take a little bit (just enough to hurt the plant) then piss off. What paul said. Good idea.

Yep you were right brick, went to check the plants this arver and there was a cheeky little bird sitting on the pots. he was too quick to get an ID.

what scares birds away? mabe i can make a mini scarecrow? ^^

bloody indian minor birds rip my seedlings out all the time. im allways running out the back yelling at them. nabours must think im a dickhead

the weekest plant was snapped by one of the birds this morning, I HATE THOSE FUCKING BIRDS!!! i put cut down coke bottles over the remaining 3 plants.

Interesting, I thought only seedy heads attracted birds? Not saying it isn't the problem though.

I have had mice chew the cotlydon leaf at night time outdoors. Seen mice shit around the seedlings and set a few mouse traps and sure enough, caught a couple of mice,.. ended up swinging the seedling tray from a tree with rope

There is your answer Budda. Mouse traps. Minors are my problem as well. Cat or a dog helps as well. If you want to get real mean and nasty snail pellets do a permanent job. lol
