POLICE arrested two men for drugs offences at the Geelong Train Station this morning as part of a special operation.

Chief Inspector Brian Jennings, of the Victoria Police transit safety division, said another male was charged with possessing a controlled weapon after he was found with a knife.

Police used the dog squad during Operation Goats, which began in Geelong and continued at Werribee and through to Melbourne.

One man was charged with possessing and using a drug of dependence, marijuana, and the second with using the same drug.

They will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date

so lets get this right, they took god knows how many man hours to plan this event, they took police who could be doing a proper job off the streets for hours if not the entire day and they even brought in a special k9 helper which while it works for free, would have required looking after the entire day just so they could bust 1 person carrying a knife that was out of sight and mind and 2 people smoking a joint?

its sad when the police feel the need to make us feel like we are in nazi germany using tax payer money to do it no less and then they hail it as a success because they actually caught a few people on minor charges that will be thrown out of court and thats if they even make it that far

if i were PM of australia i would put a stop to shit like this. it costs tens of thousands of dollars to run pointless operations like this and it doesnt achieve anything in the long run. well thats a lie, it forces people into getting around in a car that has zero defects so it cant be pulled over for boredom relief. it serves no purpose other than to make it so everything must be transported privately and the end result of that is the police having the power to pull anyone over at their discretion, tearing the car to bits and then leaving the poor victim on the side of the road with the inside of the car surrounding them. I have seen the end result of that happening with my own eyes, the guy was a known drug dealer so a basic search was half expected, but how much longer do you think it'll be before everyone is having to drive home with the back seat not screwed in properly and cut to shit?
