Two men to face court after cannabis haul

Two men will face court on numerous drug charges after police seized an estimated $100,000 worth of cannabis on the State’s Mid North Coast yesterday morning.

 

About 8am, following extensive inquiries, officers attached to Mid North Coast Local Area Command conducted a search warrant at a property on the Pacific Highway at Valla.

 

After speaking with the owner and searching the premises, police will allege they located a large sum of money and numerous bags of cannabis hidden in various locations both inside and outside houses on the property.

 

Police also seized two firearms and an amount of ammunition.

 

Two men were arrested by Mid North Coast LAC officers and subsequently charged in relation to the drug find.

 

A 58-year-old Valla man and a 40-year-old Valla man have been charged with possess prohibited drug, supply commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, deal with the proceeds of crime and cultivate prohibited plant.

 

The men have been bail refused and are due to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today.
