The Generation That Inhaled

Recommended Posts

The following figures are from memory I read the study a few months back so apologies if they are a bit rubbery. sorry I don't have time at the moment to look them up.

It's probably worth informing the editor at the Brisbane Times of those figures, if you do find them >_<

If they won't print them, I'm sure MediaWatch might be interested.. not that anyone watches it

It's a shame Jess Stone isn't still about ;) ...surely Miranda's biggest fan >:(

Though rates of marijuana use has decreased (not because of Tough on Drugs program) ecstasy has increased and so has cocaine use. People are just looking for stronger highs these days, because weed just doesn't do it seems.

Too right. Marijuana isn't even that much of a problem in the 18-24 demographic, i've found that it is generally seen as uncool and left to the 'wasters'. Ecstasy on the other hand, every person I know (and I am not limited to the one circle of friends, I have lots of friends & acquaintances, rich/poor hip/nerdy and from all over town) does ecstasy from between 3-4 times a year to every weekend leaning heavily toward the latter especially the ones you would never ever suspect. I have two close friends both in uni who take pills 1-3 times a month and whenever we're all on the come down I light up a joint and they always refuse. If the children of the 60's & 70s are the generation that inhaled we are the generation that dropped, and I can't wait to see the difference when WE all turn 40 we're gonna be a mixed up bunch.
