Four Little leaves

I hope someone can help me? I have been trying to grow some seeds and as usuall when I try to do this all I get is one huge stem and then just 4 little leaves at the top! Is there anything I can do to fix this, pruning and so on? Do I just cut them off and see what sprouts? All at the top and bare everywhere else, is this normal or do I just have dud seeds or a badly UNGREEN THUMB? Please help. Thanks..badhabits!

Your plants aren't going to grow as fast as you hope when you first start. You'll stare at em everyday swearing they aren't growing. Really your plants are probably putting forth a lot more effort to their root system in the beginning so give them time. If your still wary take a digital camera and take pictures same time everyday and then compare them on a computer, I bet you will be surprised at the amount of growth.

Or maybe I'm completely wrong and really they aren't getting what they need and then using all the energy from the seed to produce the first growth and then dying off.

 

Just give it time.

Thanks alot guys, it is only my second effort to grow outside and yeh! I guess I am kinda expecting too much but your advice has come in handy. Guess I am on the right path afterall, just need some patience. Thanks again! badhabitsau
