A POLICE raid on a Norlane home has uncovered 374 grams of cannabis and a quantity of cash.

Robert Golightly, 22, of Camelia Cres, appeared in Geelong Magistrates' Court late yesterday charged with trafficking, possessing and using cannabis and possessing the proceeds of crime.

Senior Constable Matthew Sims said that about 9.55am yesterday Geelong Regional Response officers executed a drugs search warrant at Mr Golightly's home in Camelia Cres.

He said that during the search police found a bag containing 146 grams of cannabis in a drawer in a rear room along with a further six grams and a set of scales containing cannabis remnants.

Sen-Constable Sims said a search of the roof cavity uncovered an additional 220grams of cannabis and $1150 in cash.

He said Mr Golightly was arrested at his place of work at Corio Village and his mobile phone seized.

Mary Foley, for Mr Golightly, said her client worked as a cleaner, was in a steady relationship and had resided at the Camelia Cres address for almost five years.

Ms Foley asked that her client be released on credit bail to allow him to seek treatment.

Magistrate Michael Coghlan granted credit bail and the matter was adjourned for further mention on October 28.
