Police uncovered a sophisticated drug growing set-up and $140,000 worth of cannabis plants in a St Johns Park house last night.

A tip-off from the public led police to search a Cordina Street house yesterday.

Police found a hydroponic set up at the home and 71 cannabis plants as well a large number of hydroponic equipment at the house.

The search warrant was executed after police received an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers.

A 29-year-old St Johns Park man was arrested as he tried to exit the front door of the house.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with enhanced indoor cultivation of a prohibited plant and stealing electricity.

He was refused bail and appear at Fairfield Local Court this month.

Anyone with any information about drug houses can call Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.

Steal from the Multi Nationals and you will go to jail. Tipped off by the electricity company employee no doubt. :(
