local seeds July plant

Hi all

 

I smoked some nice local buds and threw some seeds into 15cm pots with potting mix.

Thew came up within a fortnight and i left only the two healthiest. This was around July and now both are 15 cm with 5 pairs leaves. I've just left them next to the window the spare room they get light all day long. I want to smoke my own buds and watch the plant grow from seed to bud.

 

How many weeks from seed to flowering?

wats tha sativa to indica ratio?

do u have big fat leafs or slim fine bladed leafs?

are they sexed yet?

female will show 2 pistels at nodes

male will have like a club symbol on a deck of cards

its hard to guestimate the flowertime

especially with no pics dude

indicas will flower between 8 and 12 weeks

staivas from 9 - 20 weeks..

having a hybrid can vary the flower time

providing they havent began flowering with tha shorter days

id say u wont get a harvest till at least march - may next year

u can always force flower

thats making a uninterupted 12 hour period of total darkness

but once u start u really need to continue with the force flowering

otherwise with the days growing longer it will revert to vege

I did some homework and i have found some of the answers.

 

I read that you might be able to figure out when your plant may flower by follow this rule:

 

Allow around 70 days for post-germination, 70 days for growing branches and leaves, and 70-100 days for flowering, depending on how impatient you are. Remember, if you leave planting cannabis seeds too late, or you let them flower for too long into the cold months it will have a drastic effect on the THC content!

 

So following this theory

 

1 July to Sept 10 seed to seedling

Sept 10 to Dec 24th vegetation stage

Dec 24th to 1st march

 

Anyways here's one of my girls the other one looks pretty much the same.

 

Today i measured my plant and it's now 8 and a half inches.

It's got 8 layers of leaves and is still female (thank you Cannabis gods)

If it was planted in July, I reckon it would have a high chance of auto flowering, as the days were really short then, and are still relatively short now. - thats for Aussie's anyway.

 

MJ plants are a annual plant, left to their own devices, they will take anywhere from 6months to a year to complete the life cycle.

 

However, with a little intervention, artificial light periods of 18 hours light, and 6 dark per day, with lots of fresh air and plenty of nutrients/water will cut that 140 odd days of Veg time you've got there, down to as little as 4-8 weeks (Seedling > ready to flower).

 

If you are going to let it go on its own, you might want to think about space, a plant that grows from July to March will end up bloody huge, 6+ feet for most, you can top the plant to keep it bushy to avoid that.
