Dumb Cops, Dumb Cops, what ya gunna do

Recommended Posts

No matter how many times I hear it it cracks me up

keep them coming!

A whole thread on naming and shaming!

99% of cops give the rest a bad name

We better include lawyers as well

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?

WITNESS: No..

ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?

WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.

ATTORNEY: But could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?

WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law

ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?

WITNESS: Huh?

ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?

WITNESS: Would you repeat the question?

A former Northern Territory police officer will face two separate trials over domestic assault and child porn allegations after his ex-wife gave evidence against him on consecutive days.

Brendan Andrew Hair, 40, is currently facing six charges of possessing child porn and two for distributing child abuse material after his former wife Pauline Myles allegedly discovered over 1000 child pornography images on his computer.

On Tuesday, Mr Hair was also committed to stand trial for allegedly bashing Ms Myles after she unwittingly surprised him at the airport with a different woman.

Ms Myles, who was married to Hair from 2004 to 2007, told the Darwin Magistrates Court yesterday that she found five disks and two bottles of lubricant in a safe under his bed at his police barracks home in January last year, Northern Territory News reports.

She says she found over 1000 child porn images on the disks, depicting "very young children" — some of whom were no older than three years of age.

Ms Myles also told court that her former husband had been using "sex slaves" during their marriage.

On one occasion when she called a recently dialled number on his mobile phone, she said a woman answered and said "hello master".

After she informed NT police about her findings, the illegal images were allegedly discovered on his laptop.

It was the second time in three days that Ms Myles has spoken out against her ex-husband.

On Tuesday, she told a committal hearing that he punched her in the face and slammed her head into her car's steering wheel after she caught him with a mystery brunette at Darwin Airport in March last year.

"I looked over to his travelling companion ... and said something like, 'hello, who are you? I'm Pauline Hair. I'm Brendon's wife','' she said.

The alleged assault then took place after she followed the couple into the airport carpark to demand answers.

Ms Myles also claims Mr Hair slammed the car door on her legs.

She says she then drove back to his home and microwaved Mr Hair's favourite computer game in an act of revenge.

The former policeman will face assault charges at a later date in the Supreme Court.

He is yet to enter a plea on any of his eight child pornography charges

09:33 AEST Tue Sep 9 2008

A Sydney police officer charged with child exploitation and child-sex offences is to appear in a Sydney court.

Computer equipment containing images and videos of child exploitation, and printed child-exploitation material, were seized from the officer's home in the southern suburb of Penshurst on August 19, Australian Federal Police (AFP) said on Tuesday.

The 43-year-old man is a senior constable in the NSW police force and was seconded to the AFP's Airport Uniform Policing unit.

He has been charged with using a carriage service to access child pornography, possession of child pornography and sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16.

He is due to appear at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court

NSW Police Minister Matt Brown has been forced to resign from state cabinet just three days after being promoted, after it emerged he danced semi-naked and simulated a sex act on a female Labor MP during a late-night party in the parliament.

The MP, Noreen Hay, has denied the claim Mr Brown simulated a sex act on her, Fairfax reported on Thursday.

His resignation followed a meeting on Wednesday night with new Premier Nathan Rees, who told Mr Brown "that sort of behaviour is utterly unacceptable, both to the public and myself", The Australian reported.

"The premier has accepted the resignation of Matt Brown earlier this evening. Following a discussion with the premier, Matt Brown tendered his resignation," a spokesman for Mr Rees said.

The incident was believed to have occurred on budget night, three months ago, when Mr Brown held the housing and tourism portfolios.

The Australian, quoting a witness, reported Mr Brown had stripped down to his "very brief" underpants as he danced to loud "Oxford Street" techno music, while standing on a green leather couch in his office.

But Ms Hay, the Member for Wollongong, told Fairfax the sex act claim was "absolutely untrue".

"Absolutely nothing untoward occurred and certainly when I was in that room with Matt Brown he was fully clothed."

She said Mr Brown was one of many dancing in the room.

It was also reported that Mr Brown also made a lewd remark to Ms Hay's adult daughter.

"Nobody would speak to my daughter, or any one of my children, like that in my presence," she told Fairfax.

She said she had no idea why Mr Brown quit.

"I wasn't in the room all the time but while I was there I can assure that suggestions made about me and my daughter are completely untrue. I don't know why Matt has resigned; I'm saddened by that so soon after being appointed."

The resignation will force Mr Rees to find a replacement for Mr Brown, who has yet to indicate whether he will resign from Parliament
