Flood and Drain Question

Ok , following on from my Temp problem thread , I have decided to go flood and drain , with a heater in the tank to keep the plants warm as they are watered .

Will it be ok to just sit the pots in the tray , as they are perlite filled ??? I used to use expanded clay when I grew this way years ago. Also what time cycle do you reccomend for watering ? Day and Night ?

if you could use clayballs for the medium last time using perlite this time should be a-ok as for watering i usually water every 3 hours day and night.

yep, but only because i have a shit timer otherwise it would only go for about 3-4 minutes a time

only during daylight hours
