Micropropagation

Recommended Posts

The other day at the Hydro shop I picked up a copy of Maximum Yield Australia, a Indoor Gardening Magazine for the vegie growers!

Flicking through it I got to page 8 and saw a write up / advert on Lab Quality Tissue Culture At Home on how to grow mother jars not mother plants!!

Has anyone here ever experimented with tissue culture?

I found the following site but the down side is the cost of the Super Starts kit!!

www.planttc.com

This looks like something I might give a go if I can source all of the gear!

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

Canaman

Got them from SeedBoutique. I've got much older seed than these & as long as u don't love them to death they usually germinate ok. Got a bottle of Nursery Industry Only fungicide which works a treat at getting older seeds going. You soak the seeds in it overnight before planting. They take longer to germinate with it for some reason but when they do come up they look so much healthier & better germination rates. Edited by Kali Mist

I had

Bogbubble, Blue Moon Rocks & LSD; awesome strains; ludicrous yields.

Shame there is no means of obtaining again.

What did you think of the LSD effects, the two I planted outdoors are only veg so far :P can't wait until ready :scratchin: ???

It is sad when people don't keep clones/seeds of rare strains or kill all their males rather than using them to breed with or to stabilise if hybrid strains. It's not that hard to do & you don't really have to use huge numbers if you have a keen eye 4 breeding (though big numbers do make it happen quicker & easier ie more options). Anything that I get & like I keep it going myself even if it means generations of stabilising the hybrids.
