Crop has a funny taste...

Hi,

 

I am currently growing G'UNK and my 2 runs to date have a funny/dirty taste to it.

 

I am wondering if the nute's i'm using could be a contributing factor?

 

I am using a generic brand from my local shop.

 

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

while nutrients will add some flavour to cannabis, flushing usually removes most of its influence leaving behind what the buds should truely taste like.

 

chances are if your buds taste funny its just the plants you are growing. the easiest way to prove that is to grow multiple strains exactly the same way, but if aquiring new genetics is out of the question you could try growing a plant in soil along side the hydro plants. doing that should let you know if it is the method of growing that is influencing the taste or not, but from my experience if you have weird tasting buds its because the plant is meant to taste that way and the only thing that changes that in the end is curing the buds with something like a stick of vanilla, dried fruits, chewing gum, etc.

hey rr,

What additives are you adding to flower? Used to grow it in coco fibre with canna coco nutes only additives were pk13-14 n cannazym (for recycled cocofibre). Never seamed to find a earthy taste more a skunk/fruity taste. Its got alot of skunk in the makeup of it, will check with breeder this week to be sure... Also what generic brand nute are they?
