Howdy,

Tom, you are getting ripped off buddy, what brand is your perl and verm?? out in the sticks you get Ausperl brand perlite and vermiculite for $30 per 100Ltrs.

I live in a remote part of Tassie, some things are a little more expensive due to them having to cross that stretch oh water, it’s a 300 km round trip to my hydro shop, and the next nearest one is about a 500 km round trip. I don't mind paying a touch more there as they usually throw in a few discounts/freebies and they don't talk crap.

Ausperl don't sell the mixed bags though.

Hey Tom or Sols do you guys know if anything can happen to the stuff when it gets old, it might have been wet before, by the rain, anyhoo is it safe to use??

I couldn't be bothered microwaving the stuff, but its an hour at least for me to get to a hydrostore.

If it was only rain then you should be ok, does it smell or look affected? If it does then it will need to be rinsed and sterilised.

g'day; your local nursery should sell 100litre bag of pre mixed perl/verm.no need for hydro shop.water in perl/verm mix should not affect it in any way.

always wear a dust mask when handling fresh perl/verm.goggles too if you have pair.

i normally pour boiling water thru old mix to clean it, works for me.
