Millionaire milk heirs Jade and Dionne Lacey have faced a Brisbane court this morning on drugs charges

The pair, aged 25 and 21 - the sons of wealthy milkman Ken Lacey - appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning following the alleged bust of a drugs syndicate on the Gold Coast.

The bust was the culmination of a year-long investigation, dubbed Operation Foxtrot Distant, which led to police allegedly discovering a stash of ecstasy, methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and steroids with a street value of about $40,000.

During the investigation police also allegedly found equipment suspected of being used to manufacture the drugs, along with property, cash and weapons, and they have commenced proceeds of crime forfeiture action to seize properties worth an estimated $1.2 million.

Along with the Lacey brothers, who are due to reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 6, another 17 people were charged on a total of 53 drug-related offences including trafficking, supply and possession of dangerous drugs.

Detective Superintendent Brian Wilkins of the State Drug and Property Crime Unit, said the investigations specifically targeted people on the Gold Coast distributing a large amount of illicit drugs over an extended period of time.

"The seizure of illicit drugs with a street value of approximately $40,000 and the arrest of 19 people will have a significant impact on the drug market on the Gold Coast," he said.

"We will continue our investigations with more arrests expected in the following weeks.

The operation was conducted by the conducted by the State Crime Operation Command's State Drug Investigation Unit.

"This operation clearly demonstrates the tenacity and commitment of police to crack down on illicit drugs within the community, particularly those people involved in trafficking synthetic drugs such as MDMA (ecstacy) and amphetamines," Detective Superintendent Wilkins said.
