DWC bubbler questions..oh and hi.

heya guys!

 

my mate was usin this account and diddnt no if he had been nice and said hello before he babbled and stuff. well then....HELLO!

 

im going to be growing probly 4 plants in a homemade DWC bubbler, im just after info about, wen i should change the water,

is it safe to have the rootes fullly submerged in the water,

is it ok to veg and flower in this setup and wat can go wrong.

 

i have done some research but value the opinions of the users of this sight far more (kiss ass)

 

any help would be awesome thanks guys.

I usually replace mine, once a week on average

Depends on your setup, as it's a bit hard to tell weather it's indoors or outdoors etc..

what do u mean by dont skimp the bubbles?

With DWC u need to have a good air pump so the water looks like it is boiling that is what indy was saying about dont skimp on the bubbles.

 

DWC needs good air flow into the buckets or what ever u are using for healthy plants...

The only reason dwc works is because of the aeration. One twin outlet aquarium pump with twin airstones per plant is a good idea imo, unless you have a bigger one but they get noisier as they get larger in size

think water temps in dwc are vital , they don't like warm water , temps of 21 ok ... any higher they don't like , plus bottom tub needs to be big ..

What everest said is rite on and on the other side of the coin in winter time if the water temp gets to cold it will slow growth rate down to a crawl...

Can i haver the water level up all the way to the baskets?

and does basket size matter?

With the water level to start off i have th water touching the net pots until the roots have good growth to them then i drop it down so it is about 1/2 an inch from the bottom of the pot.

 

I like to use th 150mm net pot but you can use smaller or larger if you want, but i wouldent use any smaller than the 150mm ones if s it imo gives u a more stable base for the plant...
