One of the hydroponic drug houses raided in Sydney's west last week has been destroyed by a suspicious fire, police say.

Police and fire crews were called to the burning house in Sydney Street, Oxley Park, about 11pm last night.

"The blaze destroyed the home and was extinguished about 1.30am," police said.

The house was unoccupied and nobody was injured.

The single-storey brick home was one of 12 houses raided last week.

At the time it was raided, on Thursday, police seized about 200 plants.

The property was unoccupied.

Inspector Grant Bissett said cannabis and hydroponic equipment discovered by police during the raids were removed prior to last night's fire.

"Once the search warrant is finished, we secure the place as best we can and then premises goes back to the owner," he said.

"We would have been out by Thursday. We're unaware if the owner came back came back at night."

Police were treating the fire as suspicious, and were investigating the cause of the blaze and links to the cannabis seizure.

"At this stage we can't establish the cause, we're waiting for the place to cool down a little bit before the forensic guys go in," Inspector Bissett said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact St Marys Police on 9677 7499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
