Recommended Posts

imo

tipping is out dated by scrog

however

some garilla farmers still use

tipping as an out door tek to make the plant look more like a bush

than a stick out like dogs balls xmass tree

for stelth mostly

how????

easy just cut off all the tips off every the grow point or meristems

just the top two leaves of every tip of every branch pon the plant

ok

this is too late

http://www.earthreggae.com/img/ganga/tip2.jpg

as soon as you see the first flowers stop tipping

some say it increases yeild

seen

but the head size seams to suffer

every time i used it

i get lotsa small to average size budz

may be its just me

but i dout it

i have never seen anyone produce quality budz from tipping

imo

thats why scrog is a suppierior tek

http://www.earthreggae.com/img/ganga/OD6.jpg

i can easley increase yeild and bud size using scrog

actually i am quite supprised scrog hasnt ventured into mainstream houdiculture yet

esspecialy cut flowers and even some veges would beniffett from scrog tekz

the itialians use a simular methord for grapes

except the grapes are hang underneath the screen and the leaf is pon top

ok

hope dat answers yah Qz

guidance

From what i understand, tipping isent so bad in terms of yields, it mainly just gets ridd of the top king bud, and replaces 1 big bud (the head) and pumps the power to the smaller ones, so instead of getting a big king bug + lots of smaller ones, you more off the others which would have other wise been smaller. kinda evens all out.

irey thanx flange

yes right

tipping is a pruning teck to imporve yield

the scrog teck came from tipping teck

cannabis top head sends out a growth inhiditing hormone to all the other lower buds

level yah budz

so no need to prun to get the same yeild responce

no stress and recovery from no prunung

and so quicker growth are accievalbe with scrog teck

imo

tipping is out dated by scrog

being a rather aggresive tipper, and having done so for many years,,,

I have no comparative results (tipped vs non-tipped) to offer but it is my belief that tipping improves yield, at the expense of really sexy cannaporn.

Want to thrill your mates with the biggest bud imaginable? Rip out everything but the main cola.

To improve overall yield of the plant, tip the mains and let the secondaries catch up.

Radic, as usual, is spot on the money. The growth hormone he refers to(I believe) is the auxins, and it is only since becoming a participant of this forum that I changed my belief, in a way.

Before participation I believed auxins promoted growth at the growing tip.

Since joining the crew I am now understanding that auxins produced in the growing tip are migrated by the plant to inhibit growth in 'less superior' branches.

This understanding, should it be correct, suggests that though you may lose growth from the primary due to tipping the 'inhibitor' such superior tips supply to the rest of the plant is reduced by the action, causing the overall yield to increase _because_ the inferior branches are not being held back.

my 2c, and not even I'm sure I'm right.
