Police have seized $2 million worth of cannabis in three raids in western Sydney.

Acting on a tip-off, police formed Operation Yalumba, raiding two homes at St Marys on Saturday and a third about 6am (AEST) on Wednesday.

Officers found sophisticated hydroponic set-ups at two houses on Desborough Road in Saturday's raid, and seized 337 cannabis plants with a potential street value of $1.6 million, police said.

No one was at either house at the time of the raids.

Another hydroponic set-up was found during a search of a home in Magnolia Street.

More than 100 high-grade cannabis plants, with a potential street value of $500,000 were seized in Wednesday's raid, along with cash.

A 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested at the home and are currently being interviewed.

Investigations are continuing into whether the drug crops at all the houses were linked.

thats not good , i wonder who tipped em off...

"This is the most sophisticated set-up I have seen in 28 years of policing. [inside the house] there are air filters, large hydroponic lights, fertiliser systems, bags of fertiliser, and bags of plant growth hormone. They've diverted the power from Integral in an illegal fashion. They've converted the house internally for the growth of cannabis."
