OK I've measured out the air hose so here it is all cut and ready to go in.... you can see the re-circulating system on the top of the buckets here... after this it's off to the bathroom for a bit of a soak and test run with the pump... I'll dry em off and wrap em in panda with a bit of masking tape.. then I'll mix some ph water and remove those seedlings from the coke bottles.

The holes for the airhose I used a 6mm drill bit.. specially for plastic I think (it's got a spike on the tip)..

Here is a pic of all the pipes connected and netpots in... just needs to be rinsed out with some bleach.. wrapped in panda and seedlings transplanted... phew.. I'm off for a break..

Ok... here's a piccy of the inside of the bucket... Can you let me know if the pics are too dark? I'm using a logitech click smart 510 (somthing like that) but windows installed the drivers from the net... these pics are the lowest res it does... don't know why.. it's sorta like what you'd want for chatting...hehe

Putard, is there any way you could give the objects you are taking pictures bit more light? it's pretty dark and hard to see in some of the pictures?

The recirculation thingy... some ppl are inclined to think that it's not worth it because the the roots will get sucked in the drainage... oh well... lets hope not... the powerhead is a rio 180... not very strong.. it's like a dribble... just gets the water and the nutes moving around a little... plus, not all the buckets will be taken for the first few weeks..

my hydro store sells something very similar, but the bottom is air tight or something as it uses an air pump to deliver the nutes to the top.

OK... totally finished setting everything up...guess I'll have to wait until tommorrow to find out if it was a success or not... I'm so tired now I can hardly move....carrying all those nutes around...eheh..

 

I think next time I'll just fill the bath tub and mix the nutes in there and then use a pump to fill the buckets..actually best idea I've had all year..hehe

The whole thing was a pretty simple process..considering everything is home-put-together sorta thing. I think the longest thing to do was the sterilization of the buckets..and then wrapping them up..and mixing nutrients..
