First Indoor Grow

Recommended Posts

OK I'm using 19mm pipe for drainage... that means drilling 22mm holes for the grommits.. (actually the grommits tell you what to drill..hehe) What I've done is drill two holes in the control res on opposite sides of bucket and put a grommit and straight on either side... then I put the straights on all the other buckets.. put them in my growbox... then laid out the tees so I could measure how much pipe to cut.. my area is 3 feet by 3 feet or 80cm x 80cm.. I'm having 5 buckets in the growbox including the control (just to keep everything out of site). Still going to have a bit of problem with the res as it means either making a custom shelf or hanging the bucket inside the growroom above the light... I think I'll drill...hehe

Those 19mm pipe sections ended up being 8cm each...

Is there anything else I'm forgeting?

If you wanna whack ya straight in a grommit hole asap... then use a little bit of this... everyone should have some of this.... always use a condom AND a personal lubricant...lol I find that this one doesn't gum up like some others... it just keeps going an goin... until someone slips off...hehe

phew... this is HARD work...I'm getting tired now... here is the re-circulating system pipes... they'll be connected to a rio 180 powerhead inside the control bucket for mixing... 13mm pipes and joins (hardie pope elbows) and 16mm holes in the lids... those pipes only just makit through the holes.. if using a grommit then i think straights are a definate must.. oh this pipe i got is alot thicker than that garden pipe from bigw.. it's more flexible too... I'd say definately worth NOT skimping on the pipe and get some of the good stuff from a hydro store... just plan it out first so you know exactly how much you'll need... plus a little more.. a tape measure is a must when planning a new system.. or moving one..

Nice one, Mr Putard lol

Did you end up using NLpi seedlings or Skunk #1 or was it a mix?

Hope it all goes well for ya, with the transplant. When are you planning to put the babies in the bubblers?

yeah I was thinking about a pump circulating the water in my bubbler system, but WC pointed out that if you are pumping water out the roots will tend to be drawn into the pipe and possibly block it. Then you've either stuffed your pump or created a flood. Plus its just not necessary.

Other thing Mr.P, I would put the control bucket outside the grow space, maybe covered or in another small cabinet next door. Makes it easier to do maintenance during the dark cycle, especially in flower, and it leaves more room for pots inside. lol
