Here's the story. I'm trying some voice to text software. First try with it but jesus its great. Left a bit out but nearly all the story is here...... Go the mighty hemp. Harry Anslinger eat your heart out dirt bag. :peace:

Hemp industry has taken root in WA. Giovanni Tory West Australian News Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Perth businessman Kim Hough has imported 70 million cannabis seeds into the state and will start growing within a month. Mr Hough, chief executive of hemp resources, said his company had already grown hemp, in Katanning the late in late December with startling success.

Plants reached a height of one to 1 1/2 metres in just 60 days, he said.

Mr Hough recently gained permission from the State government to trial industrial hemp and will soon begin seeding the companies 26 Hector property in Katanning

(The company) took delivery of 1.2 tonnes of seed from China last Thursday and an additional 600 kg of seed from Canada. Mr Hough described hemp as a potentially trillion dollar global industry, including products such as installation, paper, bio fuel, clothing, car paneling, substitute wood and plastic, essential oils and protein rich power.

We are willing and able to build a hemp paper mill in Tasmania that is safe, clean and environmentally friendly... And not one more tree would have to fall, he said we would rather do it in Western Australia, of course

The company already manufactures clothes in China for sale ... And Mr Hough said there was a huge market for other products. Food is one of the biggest users he said. But hemp seed oil has the highest rate of nutrition of any food on the planet, it has the perfect balance of omega three and six requirements and once extracted, a protein rich powder can be made from what is left of the seed. And there is no danger of a containing heavy metals, as is the case with visuals. Company director Colin steady said that within three crops the group expects the hemp to have significantly increased levels of salinity resistance.

I can't believe that they are considering shipping to Tasmania when the growing will be done in WA. Who in the world makes these stupid decisions. Now this will be another way of shipping everything offshore because it will be to expensive to make here.
