SA drug raids dent marijuana market

Recommended Posts

The only reason I posted this is for the last sentence. I found it on http://abc.net.au/news

Police say more drug raids on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia will put a significant dent in marijuana supplies for both SA and further afield.

Up to $750,000 worth of marijuana plants have been uncovered in raids at 18 sites, with 10 people reported or arrested.

About 750 plants have been found in recent weeks in the region.

Chief inspector Brad Flaherty says there is no way the drugs would all have been for local consumption and the impact will be felt in the drug trade further afield.

"Yeah there's too much for local trade here mate. I would suggest probably the rest of the state and eastern seaboard," he said.

"We've restricted the amount of cannabis that can actually get into the market which is what we wanted to do.

"We've also put a pretty clear message out to the people that grow these things 'If we can't get you, we'll get your crop'."

I would imagine that every single grower, bar none, would prefer to sacrifice their crop if it meant that they didnt get caught. What a stupid comment.
