$550,000 cannabis and houses seized — Campbelltown

Friday, 08 Feb 2008 09:28am

More than half a million dollars worth of cannabis and two houses have been seized by Campbelltown Police, and a man is due to face Campbelltown Local Court today.

The 38-year-old Bondi Junction man was arrested last night after an estimated $550,000 cannabis was found in a house at Ruse. He has been charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

The Ruse house and a premises at Bondi Junction have been seized by police with a view to commence assets confiscation.

About 11.40pm yesterday (7 February) police executed a search warrant at the house and discovered three rooms of cannabis plants and a sophisticated hydroponics set up.

It will be alleged the house had been remodelled to allow the hydroponics set up to be installed. Evidence of previous crops was also found at the Junction Road, Ruse site.

Inquiries are continuing.
