Hydro Autopot HPS/LED

Hi All,

This is my first grow from seeds. Plants shown are 5 weeks from germination. I am running an Autopot setup using GH 3 part nutrient system. Plants are grown in rockwool core surrounded by a mixture of vermiculite/perlite.

Plants have been growing under a 400W HPS light up to now and will be switching them to an LED array (11x14W lights as pictured, total of ~ 150W total). Plants will be switched to flowering as soon as clones have taken. Should be another 10 days.

We have 2 plants that we think are males as they are taller, have longer internode distance and are not as bushy. The 2 taller plants are 21" and the 2 shorter ones are 16".

are you flowering these so youll know if the clones are female or male?.. or flowering to crop? or both?

I am going to make sure the 8 clones take and then I plan on flowering the plants and get rid of the 2 which I think are male (I suspect the 2 taller are male)

I will then keep the female clones - one of which will be a mother, growing while the main plants flower.

I don't know a lot about LED's but wouldn't the HPS be better for flowering them and the leds for the clones?

The plan is to introduce the LED as a partial source of light and flower with both. I believe that LED will veg really well but produce small bud if used for flowering but I may try LED alone for flowering on the clones when the time comes.
