Operation Longbow, drug operation Innisfail

Operation Longbow is an on-going operation targetting drug production in the Innisfail area.

 

Approximately 13 officers were involved in searches of the Cowley Beach area, south of Innisfail on January 30 and 31. Innisfail CIB were supported by Innisfail CPIU and uniformed officers from Mourilyan and Silkwood. Officers from the Far Northern Region Drug Squad and Water Police also assisted.

 

In the early hours of January 30 police searched bushland and thick scrub at Cowley Beach eventually locating 168 cannabis plants.

 

Police searched a house in Cowledy Beach this morning locating four cannabis plants and a quantity of dried cannabis.

 

Two Cowley Beach men, aged 50 and 52, were issued with notices to appear for producing and possessing a dangerous drug and possessing implements. They are due to appear in the Innisfail Magistrates Court on February 25.

 

Police investigations are continuing.
