Outdoor grows and cops

Our coppers are too busy trying to balance the books.

TASMANIA'S police force faces a second budget blow as wage negotiations and air rescues push the department more than $3 million into debt. A senior member of Tasmania Police told the Mercury financial officers had recently discovered that the Westpac Rescue Helicopter had exceeded its budget by $1.8 million. The service is largely funded by the Police Department, along with the Tasmanian Air Rescue Trust......

The make-up of the increase was an extra 42 hours for Tasmania Ambulance (from 70 hours to 112 hours this financial year); an extra 24 hours for search and rescue (from 96 to 120 hours); and an extra 18 hours for police operations (from three to 21 hours).

So they only did about 18 hours in the air for actual police work. Only a small state but a lot of state forests and open space to cover.

So maybe being located in Tasmania makes perfect sense.

Tasmania has some of the most thickest and isolated forests in Australia, plenty of water and better soil than the majority of Australia. Also the fact that Tasmania has a very small population, would obviously also make it far less likely that plants would be detected.

At first it seems like a growers heaven. The problem is Tasmania rarely seems to have a day over 26 degrees for more than a few days in a row. Just from observing the weather in tasmania over summer, it seems to me that the majority of strains would just rot in the ground as soon as they developed flowers.

If you could find some old hippy down there who has been growing for many years and has some large growing sativa which has naturalized to the Tasmanian enviroment, then cross that with something like Hollands hope, you could probably clean up in relative peace.

That's what I'd do if I had any interest in growing for more than just personal. Why anyone would want to grow in  north eastern NSW is beyond me. The sub-tropical environment up there may be the best conditions for growing cannabis in australia, but the cops know this and constantly bombard the northern NSW growers with Hungry first yearers, who are more than happy to do some hippy bashing to get there careers rolling.  Better off in south OZ.

This may have been already said but in NSW and QLD they use choppers to check power lines. Come screaming up to your house, sheds etc do a few circles then head off. In rural areas anyway. Must have a sense of humor cause often they are blue and white (even the blades). Good to fuel any paranoia you may be just getting under control.
