Computer fan

I have an old computer with a perfectly good fan. But the problem I am facing is how do I adjust the fan so that the power pulg with go into the wall? Or, for those who have done it before, give me some tips on how to give it power?

i had a mate who hooked up my computer fans today for my bubble cloner box.....he used a computer 'control box'...changed a few wires and voila!!..i dont know how exactly he did it though so cant give detailed info..

i aint done this befor but from what i have heard all ya have to do is get a 12v adapter and connect the wires and there ya go

 

but dont count on that as i said i aint done it myself as yet

Get one of those multi voltage plug-in adapters (4.5 - 12v) and use that to run it, the different voltage settings vary the speed of the fan.

This is the way I plan on trying to do mine. Tho I only have a 30v adapter, so I'm going to have to get some resistors and do some handiwork...

You can usually pick adapters up at Sunday markets or garage sales for a dollar or two each.

Arrgh, I've actually got a few 12V AC adaptors, but I just realised I need 12v DC.

I was so close to setting that up right now...

I have setup a few pc fans to run off a 12v DC power adaptor.

 

One thing i have found is if u run any more than one fan off them the fan drops in speed quite a bit, so u need something that can put out enough power to run more than one.

 

I have a 16v DC power adaptor that i run 2 12cm pc fans off, one fan runs great but the second i hook up the other one u can hear the speed of the fans drop a bit but not as bad an a 12v adaptor dose...

How many plants you got in the area with the two fans?

The size of the area is about 1200mmH x 600mmD x 1200mmW, cant remember off hand but that pretty close.

 

That lil cab i have is used for mothers and cloning using 3 48w cf's, with the 2 12cm pc fans has a good air exchange so it dosent get to hot.

 

I have one fan setup for intake and the other to pump it out again, it dose the trick for me...
