AN 81-year-old woman has been charged with growing and supplying cannabis after her arrest in a New South Wales town this week.

The woman was arrested on Monday by a police strike force set up last year to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in Young and surrounding townships.

Police said the woman was arrested when she turned up at Young police station and charged with cultivating and supplying cannabis.

She was bailed to appear in Young Local Court on February 5.

Seven people have been arrested in the operation so far.

Why do the cops bother with sort of bust. Police task force indeed.

Sounds like this Strike Force just sat on their arses until some dottery old bird wandered in and gave herself up :peace:

:applause: or maybe she was used to dealing pot to the Young coppers and on this day the Strike Force just happened to be visting for a cupper (and probably a cone!)

Basically this has happened because we have to many cops with nothing better to do than hassle the elderly ;)

This is very disgusting, I agree. Something similar happened a few months ago in NYC and they let her go...but that was in New York. This case sounds more like they want everyone to think they caught "Ma Barker" Or some evil ringleader.

I hope that she has the sense to make a fuss and talk to every news agency she can about how she needs this plant for medicine!

I would like to follow this one just to see what happens if there's ever another word about it.
