Single leaves and stopped growing (with pics)

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of babies planted in beginning of Sept, outdoors in pots, were going fine except have recently started growing single leaves, before they were triple leaves. Also they seem to have stopped growing, although 1 continues to grow but still has developed single leaves. The tallest one is about 20-30 cm the others are about 15-20 cm.

Other than single leaved and the ones that have 'stopped' growing they seem quite healthy. We have had a lot of cloudy days and rain and unusually cold weather lately, would that be enough to 'slow' down the plants?

Is this normal or have I stuffed it somehow.

[so guys? What's the verdict? Did I plant too early and need to start again?]

Yep. Planted too early anyway. Around here (about half way down the continent) I don't plant outdoors before middle of October.

What will happen now is because of the long days they will go back to veg; it will take them a while to kick back to veg as considering they have gone into the flowering cycle they need to reveg.

The fact that they are growing single leaves is a sign that they are going back to veg; just like when a plant goes fully to flower and gets buds, and is then revegged without the buds being removed; the new growth comes out of the top of the bud and at first it is just single leaves.

Give it as much light as poss.
