Raids net 300 cannabis plants

Recommended Posts

TWO separate raids in NSW have netted more than 300 cannabis plants worth more than $600,000, police say.

Officers swooped on a property on Jenkins Street in Nundle, in the state's north, yesterday afternoon and found 170 plants with a potential street value of $340,000.

A 67-year-old Nundle man has been charged with cultivating an indictable quantity of cannabis and is due to appear in Tamworth Local Court on November 19.

In the second raid, detectives seized 139 plants from a home in Carpenter Street at Colyton in Sydney's west.

The plants, worth an estimated $280,000, were spread between four rooms of the house.

A 45-year-old man has been charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited plant, diverting electricity without authority and interfering with a supplier's electrical works.

The Marrickville man was refused bail and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
