Cool your bulb and circulate air...

Can't afford the cool tubes? Don't want to lose those lumens?

 

Grab yourself a $20 120mm Spectrum Fan and wire it to the hood so it blows cool air over the bulb and around the room, thus dissipating heat and providing a way to lower temps and your lights height.

 

After I attached this one, my temps dropped 8C, so the bulb could come down about 5cm.

A while back, i made a shade 'n fan combo. I can't remember the difference in temperatures, but it must've done some good because it seem to work pretty well at the time.

 

The cost was a bit more because i had to buy the sheet metal and ducting.

All up, around the $60 to $70 mark if i recall correctly...

i done this over a year ago i had pictures on ozstoners in my sig but the link doesnt seem to be working my temps dropped a shit load alowed me to lower my 1000w to around 6" from plant tops

$20 is a good price on that fan mate i paid $40 for a 125mm Allvent fan .

Yeah, that's very cheap for a 120mm fan of any brand... 35 odd out here. Perhaps 30 if you squeezed for it at a shop....

Well that's the price I pay at the hydro shop...?

Must be buying power??? I just figured that's what they cost because that's what I get charged. I've bought 4 of them at that price. Dunno? I must be onto a good thing, but I do spend a lot there.

They are well cheap on eBay as well...

the sunon's cost around $40 but there are cheaper 120mm fans AV makes a cheaper one

Just had a look at them and they say 'SPECTRUM' axial PC fan - price tag $25.

I guess I get $5 off...?
