CFL Fluorescant Flood lights

Recommended Posts

Most of them do. But if they dont they will have names like warm white and daylight or bright white. The warm ones have the lower spectrum number like 2700k Good for flowering. The bright white or daylight are about 4000k to 6400k. Blue Spectrum. Good for vegatative growth. Use a mixture of both lights when flowering to reduce stretch.

I think compact refers to the ballast. The CFL's have built in ballasts.

I've been vegging for over 9 months with 120/23w cfl floods with great success. I wondered at first if the fact that they're sealed in glass would hinder the light output, but it hasn't seemed to. As for flowering, I haven't tried yet, but I have read it can be done. I personally would add a red plastic mulch to the bottom of the box.
