Sydney, Australia (AHN) - Police have acted on a community tip off to seize over $700,000 AUD ($614,050 USD) in marijuana at a house in Sydney's north-west. Police say they found more than 200 plants, marijuana leaf and fertilizers in the raid conducted on Wednesday morning.

Two people, a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

A police statement said the pair had been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court later today.

The statement also added that a seven-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy were also at the house at the time of the raid and have now been placed in the care of relatives.

It is believed the two children did not live at the address.

200 plants worth $700,000? Cop price is up to $3500 per plant now.

I wonder how many people started growing dope thinking how rich they'd be when they unload plants for $3500/ea. Sounds like entrapment- or cops ridiculously inflating prices to make cannabis look like it's a real big crime.

wot crap.
