Switchable Ballasts!....

Recommended Posts

Hello, i just recently purchased a Sunleaves Pulsar 2.0 Switchable ballast. It can use both MH and HPS bulbs.

I was very exited about using this Ballast and not having to use Conversion bulbs, but i was reading somewhere that people don't like these switchable ballasts and bulbs can burn our prematurely or explode. Now maybe people were talking about old ones, or homemade ones, but it still got me worried. I bought the ballast because my old ballast ran hot and i was worried about a fire.

So basically, do i need to worry, or did i make a good purchase. Safety is number 1 priority for me, so i was curious about the ballast and the company. Does anyone have anything they can tell me about this ballast, expereice wiht it, or the company? Or just knowledge of new switchable ballasts. thanks

Haven't seen those meself, is this just a standard magnetic or an electronic ballast?

If it's from a reputable retailer/supplier then I wouldn't be too worried, most ballasts are reliable for 10+ years if built well. Sunleaves has a bit of a name in the states afaik, but haven't seen em in oz. You from over yonder pacific pond?

, privacy isn't an issue, but we could get mixed up with our voltages... :yahoo:

yeah, it should be okay IMO, I have a mate with a switchable 400 and it's still going strong after 5 years use.

This was mainly an ozzie site a while back, but Cannanation is definitely more international now. :xcited: Fundamentally, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you grow pot, you're going to come up against similar, if not the same, problems.
