What size pots?

Recommended Posts

Hi m8s,

Was tossing up between planting in ground or pots and have pretty much decided to go for the pots as I can move them around according to sun positions and if they have to be moved in case of visitors etc. Was wondering what size should the final pot be? I read somewhere that 7.5 gallon was the ideal for indoor but not sure if the same goes for outdoors as well.

Cheers

A lot bigger than that if you can though. Get some good castors, some 2 by 4 and make yourself a heavy duty rolling stand, and then get as big a pot as you can convieniently use. I would suggest a 50l or even 65l pot. lol

There are limiting factors to growth of cannabis, one is the size of the root zone and composition. Bigger the pot, bigger the plant. And outdoors, it could be a monster if you wanted it to. lol

20 litre pots, those white buckets bakeries use can be good, . mU can leave them in the pots their whole life and so long as u keep the water up to them they'll reach full enough size in that. But if u get "so far" intoi the grow, and figure all's fine, and they're not going to ned moving, dig new holes, and line with builder's plastic, pot out into that.

either that, or cut the bottom of the pots out and put back in their spots, that way they can ut down roots deeper, and the pot sides will channel excess water down for the roots to follow.

But even if u grow from start to finish in pots, be sure to bury them. keeps them hiiden and cool from drying out in the summer sun.

All the best.
