When to harvest buds ?

Hi......

 

one of my plants ( BUBBLEBERRY VARIETY ) has quite thick buds on it already, and by looking at the thickness of it, it looks nearly ready to harvest...........

 

But most of the stigmas are still white.........only 5% are brown..................

 

at what point should you harvest..........when 70% of the stigmas are brown ?

Yer when they all turn about 70% amber color then she will be ready for harvest, have u got any pics of her.

its better to go by the trichomes (resin stalks) than the colour of the pistils. You'll need a magnifying glass or microscope with at least 30x magnification. Try looking for a jewellere's loupe or toy microscopes can sometimes be found cheap.

Hi jasonwr6000,

 

Outdoors is hard to go by the browning of the white hairs. They get sunburnt and dry out and blown away.

 

As pipeman points out try and get a deent 30x magnifying glass oer microsxcope anwd look at the "tichy's' 8,

Another thing to keep in mind is that some people like harvesting early/late due to the profile differences - if you harvest early (when say only 25% of trichomes have turned amber) then the high will be more heady/uppy, whereas a later havest (75%+ amber trichomes) will have more body to it. I like about 50/50%, so for me that is my perfect harvest time, and simply by using a 30x microscope (ebay $20) I can achieve that. Your mileage may vary
