Men in court over $800,000 cannabis haul

A tip-off has led police to a crop of cannabis plants worth $800,000 in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

 

Three men have been charged and were to appear in court on Sunday, police said.

 

Acting on information police raided the plantation on Saturday morning and found about 400 cannabis plants in bushland off the Bells Line Road at Bell.

 

Police estimate the cannabis plants have a street value of about $800,000.

 

Three men - a 60-year-old Doonside man, and two men from Londonderry, aged 27 and 51 - were arrested at the plantation, and have been charged with cultivate a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.

 

They were refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
